Mid-Exam Post

Saturday, April 30th, 2005

Man, took long to actually update it. Heh. But don’t worry! once I’m done with the silly little thing called exams, i have alot of blogging to do! Just to let you noe everything is still running….heh. Look out for my film reviews, fashion blog and techie updates! So many many things to actually blog about *GRIN* Middle of exams with no heart to carry on studying - not a good thing. i keep telling everyone "I wanna slack, so not really looking for a job" But seriously? I am starting to freak out… I know what I want to do (which is to work behind and infront of the camera) But I know it wont be easy. I have sent like dozens of resumes out hoping people will take me in as production assistant. *sigh* No luck though. All that experience and nothing to apply it to…besides itll be funny working funny hours and not wearing suits(although i know ill look damm good in one*WINKgrin*) lalalalalalalala. Anyhow, managed to watch INFECTION during the week and its a mindfuck! Completely screws your mind without you expecting it. Trust me…i spent a whole hour crouched behind my hands, waiting to get scared. And i did, even hidden behind my hands. Chicken shit me. *laf*

Next movie to watch out for is ‘Save the Green Earth’ ! Damm funny for a korean movie. About a guy who thinks his boss is an alien….(sounds familiar) but still its damm fun! Along the lines of ‘My Sassy Girl’ quirky while kinda making fun of the whole alien/hero business*snicker* Movies are good things, especially when they are non-examinable. hurhur. Look at my trailers section and you will see updates on the latest movies…Well some anyway! enjoy!STARWARSTARWARSTARWARSTARWARS!!!! Natalie Portman is delish!

two more days before i unofficially graduate. God bless. oooooooh.

I just lov my phone phone hurhur *hug phone tightly* Anyhow, we watched Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles! Ridiculously funny… a cross between Stephen Chow and postmodern, self-reflexive movies you see nowadays. Man he wouldnt let up on the racist and politic satire. Good shit.

People people, you must must so watch ‘Install’ and ‘Swing’ Girls’!*GRIN* If not for the cute jap babes then for the sheer entertainment. ‘Swing Girls’ is all bout big band jazz and a bunch of high school girls (guys imagine the sheer amount of skirt!) and its so Jap-style inspiring! Like those japanese flicks like waterboys (which the director also did btw) It’s got funny moments and nice touching ones..accompanied with old jazz favourites! Best bit! The boar sequence! WOOWOWOWO.  ‘Install’ on the other hand has a cute girl and a cute guy (boy, toddler whatever) Its got online sex chats and deprived salarymen thinly veiled by "meaning of life" …which makes me go huh? ( i figured the director had something to say about sex and the internet, but then again..*raise eyebrow* ) Best bit! When they get intimate…not in that way, you perve! Its quirky and nice, and i just love the way they say "INSTALL-U" So go watch this two flicks cos they are so typically jap!

Anyone who wants to get me a early b’day gift can get me Baz Luhrman’s Red Door Trilogy. OK? Heard that? Good. 0408_180019

Looking at you. Better get me that gift set or else. HMPH.

The Blower's Daughter
And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky

I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

And so it is
Just like you said it should be
We'll both forget the breeze
Most of the time
And so it is
The colder water
The blower's daughter
The pupil in denial

I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?

I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind...
My mind...my mind...
'Til I find somebody new
I miss that someone

HaHaHa, as of this moment, I have two film projects and one paper left to deal with. God bless *shake butt* Last sem and probably the most hectic one in history of my education (over statement but it is my last sem..i suppose NUS just had to make it ultra-memorable. My headache is one of the many souvenirs) You can officially call me the pseudo -expert on Wong Fei Hong, Hong Kong New Wave and West Side Story. I seriously don’t know how all these information will help me later in life, but at least I feel knowledgeable. FWAH. Can’t wait to get my Lear adaptation going, imagine a wizen old Anthony Leung giving his ‘di pan’ away to his stylish ah beng sons Andy Lau, Ekin Cheng and Francis whathisname. Thats my version of Lear- Hong Kong gangsta style. Nice nice? Sure hope it works out because it would turn out really cool if it does. Hurhur. Consider me a pseudo-auteur. *wave hands* Thank you thank you.

Ok Ok anyhow, just a week or two more and all this head-cramming, ass-busting shit is over. Have mixed reactions really *sigh* love the people i hung out with, but seriously need a change of environment. Anyone to UK with me? Could use some cold English air, and stylish clothes! *laf* Gonna walk away from NUS having loads of memories, which is something I’d love to keep for life. But, of course, we all have dark secrets we don’t want to remember *aheam*

BTW IF ANYONE NEEDS SOMEONE FOR *HIRE, I’M AVAILABLE!

*applicable only for film production, advertising, marketing and cool event companies. Thanks.

By the way

The side bar you see on the right? That’s where I’ll be putting links to the nicest, funkiest movies that are on their way here! (I Hope) Of course there are loads more movies I’d love to watch..but I think these would be more digestable for mainstream (Don’t mind me saying this, but we should all watch Colour Blossoms - for Harisu!) Look out for Eros too! Its a trilogy directed by Sodenberg, Wong Kar Wai and Antonioni *wink*

There is always a first!

This is rather exciting innit?I should be doing my six page essay on stereotyping and ideology but TO HELL WITH IT! (I’m so sure I’m gonna pay for this later) I’m one of those ‘laggards’ who start blogging after everyone else has. But i figured better late than never. Heh. Anyhow *crack fingers* I have a couple of thoughts about MSU…

(1) Girls who are smart and pretty aren’t always eloquent

(2) Girls who are not so pretty, but are smart and eloquent, will do.

(3) MSU always lacks girls who have all three.

Not that I’m bombarding the poor contestants with criticism, they have had enough from the newspeople. But seriously, I think all of us in Singapore at least knows some fantastic lady who has all that and more *aheam* So why is it that even with $25,000 we still don’t get to see them? I think some one should tell those old men that it ain’t always about the money *shake head* HELLO! *wave* So exciting. A Blog. My Blog. Can you imagine, these are actually my words on the net, with my ugly-as-hell picture next to it? All in the name of posterity. Wooohoo.
